How does the Family Crisis Center help?

The Family Crisis Center provides free and confidential services to :

Victims of Sexual Assault in Northern Cameron and Willacy Counties.
Services include:

  • 24 Hour Hotline
  • Hospital accompaniment
  • Accompaniment to police interviews and court proceedings
  • Follow up counseling for victims and their families
  • Support groups for survivors of rape/incest, marital rape victims, abused children and teens
  • Educational programs for schools, community and professional groups

Victims of Family Violence in Northern Cameron County and all of Willacy County.
Services include:

  • 24 Hour Hotline
  • Transportation to a safe place
  • Shelter for battered women and children
  • Counseling for abused women and children
  • Medical and legal referrals if necessary
  • Advocacy with law enforcement and the legal system
  • Support groups for resident and non-resident battered women
  • Therapeutic play programs for children from violent homes
  • Prevention presentations for students
  • Educational programs for community/professional groups
